Must visit! Follow the trail along the ridge for breathtaking views on the caldera. The hike is about 3h, good hiking shoes are recommended.
Unforgetable place, very beautiful panorama. Just very long time has arrived. The route very narrow and sinuous.
But this is La Palma ! 😀
Muy bueno ! …
The place to be for astronomers. Coming here now for 25Years and it's amazing to see how those place was grown in that time.
Nice to pay a little visit to the observatorium mirror ray scan thingies. There was a lot of background information on the high-tech things. (However the official name for the mirror/egg shaped telescopes has already flown out of my head.)
So cool! Bit chilly with being so high up but the tour guide was informative and spoke to one group in both Spanish and English. Very helpful and interesting.
Very nice place to visit the telescopes and get stunning views
Beautifull place to visit! The long drive is worth it
That’s sooo amazing! You can see the different sunset and beautiful galaxy!
I drove up from the road on the west side of the island....I hadnt drove a standard transmission in years and driving around La Palma is not for the faint of heart! The roads are narrow and steep with no shoulders and ascending to the observatories with its countless switchbacks made for quite a thrilling drive! The panoramic views from the top are quite breath taking and worth every bit of drive to the top!
If you're visiting the observatory, I recommend bringing a sweater or light jacket. Temperature inside the dome is around 13 degrees. Also, yours must be booked in advance, check the website for details. And the trip is totally worth it! Really looking forward to my next visit!
